Post Natal Physiotherapy
We encourage all women to have a Specialist Physiotherapy post natal check (sometimes called 'Mummy MOT') after pregnancy and delivery to assess abdominal and pelvic floor function.
It is recommended approximately 8 weeks after delivery, however it is never too late to be assessed and get help with any post natal complications or concerns.
A post natal Physiotherapy assessment ('Mummy MOT') will include :

-
Abdominal muscle function, including assessment of diastasis (abdominal separation)
-
Breathing pattern
-
Internal examination
-
Pelvic floor function
-
Assessment for pelvic organ prolapse
-
Assessment of any birth trauma or scarring
-
Functional assessment for guided and safe return to exercise
